# Terms of Service — Friday Cornhole League
**Last updated: 13 September 2026**
Friday Cornhole League ("FCL", "we", "us") runs a cornhole scoring and league
platform: an app, a website, and the leagues, tournaments and rankings inside
them (together, the "Platform"). By using the Platform you agree to these
Terms.
We have tried to write these so that you can actually read them. Where a rule
exists to protect something, we have said what.
> **Nothing on the Platform costs money today.** Subscriptions and tournament
> entry fees are described in sections 7 and 9 because they are coming and you
> should be able to read the terms before they arrive — not because anything is
> being charged now. **We will tell you before that changes**, under section 15.
---
## 1. What this is, and who runs it
FCL is operated by **TendyBros LLC**, a Minnesota limited liability company.
Contact details are in section 16.
The Platform is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sanctioned by the American
Cornhole League, the American Cornhole Organization, or any other cornhole
governing body. Where the Platform describes a tournament or a result as
**"sanctioned"**, that means *sanctioned by FCL, under these Terms, for the
purposes of the FCL world ladder* — and nothing more. It confers no standing in
any other body's rankings and no qualification for any other body's events.
---
## 2. Accounts and age
### Who may hold an account
You must be **13 or older** to hold an FCL account. If you are under 18, you
may hold an account with the permission of a parent or guardian.
**The Platform is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly
collect personal information from them.** If we learn that an account belongs
to someone under 13, we will delete it and the personal information attached to
it. A parent or guardian who believes we hold information about a child under
13 should contact us at the address in section 16 and we will delete it.
### Family members
A league roster can include **family members** — typically children — who have
**no account of their own**. A family member is added and managed by the adult
account holder responsible for them, who is taken to be giving consent on their
behalf. A family member:
- has no login, no profile of their own and no ability to use the Platform
independently;
- does not appear on any public page or on the world ladder;
- has confirmations, mentions and notifications routed to the managing account.
The managing account holder may remove a family member at any time, which
removes their roster row and their personal details.
### Accounts under 18
An account holder under 18 is **never listed on the public world ladder and
never appears on a public league page**, and this is not a setting either they
or anybody else can change. They keep a world rating, see their own rank, and
count as a rated opponent for everyone else — they are absent from the public
list, not from the maths.
The reason is stated plainly because it is the reason: a public list combining
a minor's full legal name, their city, and a weekly schedule of where they will
be playing is a bad thing to publish.
On an account holder's 18th birthday this restriction lifts automatically and
**they are notified** rather than being published silently. From that point the
visibility setting in section 6 is theirs.
### Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you tell us and for the security
of your credentials. Tell us promptly if you believe somebody else is using
your account.
---
## 3. Leagues, roles and acceptable use
A **league** is a private space run by one or more **league administrators**.
Administrators manage the roster, record results, run events and moderate their
own league. FCL does not run your league and does not arbitrate ordinary
disagreements inside one.
You agree not to:
- misuse the Platform, or attempt to reach another league's data;
- post content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, threatening, or that
infringes somebody else's rights;
- impersonate another person, or record another person's results as your own;
- do anything covered by section 10 (manipulation).
**Platform administrators** are FCL staff. A platform administrator can read
across leagues in order to repair data, investigate a report or answer a
support request. **A platform administrator is not an administrator of your
league**: they cannot record a match, edit a score, or change your league's
standings.
---
## 4. Your data, and what is visible to whom
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
**League data is isolated.** Rosters, match details and league chat are
restricted to that league's members by server-side access controls.
**Public league pages.** A league may choose to publish a page showing its
standings, roster and upcoming events. Before a private league becomes public,
**every member is given three days' notice**, so that anybody who does not want
to appear can leave or ask their admin to reconsider. Family members are never
included on a public page, and neither is any member under 18.
**The world ladder** is described in section 6.
### Retention and deletion
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| League chat messages | **12 months from the message being written, then permanently deleted.** This is fixed. No administrator, present or future, can shorten or extend it. |
| A league with no activity | **Archived at 1 year** (read-only, fully readable, unarchived in one tap). **Deleted at 3 years.** |
| A league deletion an admin requests | Performed after a **30-day wait**, with warnings to every member at 7 days and 1 day. |
| Public tournament results | **1 year** from the event. |
| Match and ledger records | Kept, in order to keep ratings meaningful. See below. |
We warn before every one of these transitions — at 30 days, 7 days and 1 day —
by notification and by email.
**Some records survive account deletion, and we would rather say so than
surprise you.** When you delete your account, your profile and personal details
go. The *results of matches you played in* do not: they are the basis of other
people's ratings and standings, and removing them would silently rewrite the
record of people who did nothing. Those records are **anonymised** — your name
comes off them — and the result stays.
---
## 5. Ratings
Ratings on the Platform are **computed**, not awarded, and these Terms are the
basis on which we may change them.
- A rating is derived from recorded results. We may **recompute** ratings at
any time — for example when a league corrects a score, when a disputed result
is settled, or when we fix a defect in the calculation.
- A rating is **not a possession and carries no value**. It is a statement
about recorded games.
- We may **exclude, withhold or reverse results** from the world ladder where
we believe they are not genuine, including under section 10.
- We may **quarantine** an account or a league — which removes it from public
rankings pending review — without removing anybody else's results. Being
quarantined is a "pending review" state, not a finding.
- Your league's own ratings are computed only from your league's matches, and
are never affected by what happens in another league.
---
## 6. The world ladder, and your consent to be on it
The world ladder is a public ranking across leagues. If you are listed on it,
it shows your **legal name**, your **city, state and country**, your rating and
your record.
**You can opt out at any time**, from your profile, and turn it back on
whenever you like. Opting out means you are absent from the public ladder, from
its filtered views and from name search.
Opting out does **not** stop your rating moving, does not hide it from you, and
does not withdraw your past results from anybody else's rating. Results are
results, and voiding them would change the standing of people who had no part
in your decision.
**Accounts under 18 are never listed** — see section 2.
Where a league uses nicknames, those are shown on league surfaces. World
surfaces — the ladder, tournament brackets, world share cards — show legal
names, so that competitors can tell who they played.
---
## 7. Subscriptions
The Platform is **free to use**, permanently, for unlimited matches, seasons,
ratings, attendance, league chat, live scoring and the world ladder, in up to
four leagues with up to **25 active players** in each. Paid tiers add depth and
scale; they never put your own results, ratings or history behind a payment.
**Subscriptions are not open yet.** Nothing below is being charged today. It is
written down now so that it is readable before it matters, and we will tell you
before any of it takes effect.
Two things will be true whenever it does open, and they are worth saying in
advance because they are the ones people worry about. **Nothing you have
already got becomes paid** — the paid tier is built from features that do not
exist yet, not by taking away something you have. And **the size limit above is
not enforced against a league that is already over it** without the notice and
the 30 days described at the end of this section.
### What is offered
| | Price | Term | Bought by |
|---|---|---|---|
| **League Plus** | **US$50 / year** | 12 months, auto-renewing | a league administrator, for the league |
| **Athlete Plus** | **US$10 / year** | 12 months, auto-renewing | a person, for themselves |
**Both subscriptions renew automatically** at the then-current price until
cancelled. Your account is **charged at confirmation of purchase** and again at
each renewal, within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
**Where you bought it is where you cancel it.** A subscription bought inside
the iOS or Android app is charged to your App Store or Google Play account and
is managed and cancelled in that store's subscription settings — not by us and
not inside the app. A subscription bought on our website is cancelled from your
account page. **Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not end the period
you have already paid for**, which runs to its end date.
**League Plus belongs to the league, not to whoever paid for it.** It survives
an administrator handing over or leaving. One consequence is worth stating: the
person who pays is not necessarily the person who can cancel, because any
administrator of that league can.
### Refunds on subscriptions
**Subscription refunds are handled by the store you bought from, not by us.**
Apple and Google each operate their own refund process and their own rules, and
we cannot grant, deny or speed up a refund on their platforms. If you bought on
our website, contact us and we will consider a refund within 30 days of the
charge.
We say this rather than promising a policy we cannot execute. If a store
refuses a refund you believe you are owed, write to us anyway — we would rather
hear about it.
### When a subscription ends
If League Plus lapses and your league has **25 or fewer active players**,
nothing stops working and nobody is removed. You lose the paid features —
seasons before the current one, the league-wide comparison browser,
division-filtered standings, season-long throwing trends, export. Everything
you configured stays configured, and renewing restores every view instantly.
If League Plus lapses and your league has **more than 25 active players**, you
have **30 days**, and we warn you at 7 days and 1 day. After that the league
becomes **read-only**: no new matches, events, players or joins. Everything
already there stays fully visible and **nothing is deleted** — every rating,
result, message and award remains.
A read-only league can still: move members to the inactive roster and bring
them back, edit its roster and its division assignments, post to chat (admins),
read everything, and subscribe. **Moving members to the inactive roster is the
way back and it costs nothing** — an inactive member keeps their membership,
their history and their rating, and returns with one tap.
Division definitions and assignments remain editable on every tier. We do not
charge you to correct your own data.
---
## 8. Promotional codes, founding leagues and complimentary access
We sometimes give access away — through a code, through the founding-league
programme, or because we felt like it.
- A promotional code grants what the code says, for the period the code says,
from the moment it is redeemed. **Codes do not stack**: one promotional grant
runs at a time.
- **Founding leagues** — the first leagues accepted into the programme —
receive League Plus at no charge, permanently. Acceptance is at our
discretion and is confirmed by us; meeting the published conditions does not
by itself create an entitlement.
- **Early-league pricing** runs for a fixed period measured from each league's
own start date, after which the standard price applies. We tell you at signup
and again 60 days before it ends.
- Complimentary access granted by FCL staff may be time-limited. We may revoke
it, though ordinarily we simply let it run out.
Promotional and complimentary access carries **no cash value**, is not
transferable, and is not refundable.
---
## 9. Tournaments, entry fees and prize pools
### Not yet in effect
**FCL does not currently charge for anything.** Tournament entry on the
Platform is free today, and this section describes what happens when entry fees
open. **We will tell you before they do**, and these Terms will be updated
under section 15 at that point.
### What FCL charges, and what it does not
When entry fees open, FCL will charge a **sanctioning fee of US$5 per player** to enter a tournament on
the Platform. A doubles team is two players and therefore
US$10, because two people are entering, two ratings move and two results are recorded. Each
entrant pays their own fee, from their own account.
**That fee is FCL's, for validating the event and carrying its results into the
world ladder. It is not your entry to the competition.**
**Anything the organiser charges is the organiser's.** Entry fees, venue costs,
lunch, equipment and **any prize pool** are arranged, collected, held and paid
out by the event's organiser. FCL does not collect them, does not hold them,
takes no share of them, and has no view of them. **FCL is not responsible for
an organiser's fees or for the payment of any prize**, and any dispute about
them is between you and that organiser.
### Withdrawals, cancellations and no-shows
These apply to **FCL's US$5 sanctioning fee** only.
| When you withdraw | What happens to the fee |
|---|---|
| **7 or more days** before the event starts | Refunded in full. You may take an FCL tournament credit instead, immediately, rather than waiting on a card refund. |
| **Between 24 hours and 7 days** before | Issued as an **FCL tournament credit**. |
| **Less than 24 hours** before, **or no-show** | Forfeited. The bracket is drawn and the event has incurred the cost. |
**You get back what you put in.** If you entered using a credit, a full refund
returns the **credit**, not cash.
Some withdrawals are not your doing and are not treated as though they were:
- **The event is cancelled** — refunded in full.
- **Your partner does not turn up** — refunded in full. You were left without a
team; the absent partner's penalty is theirs.
- **You are asked to run the event instead of playing** — refunded in full.
- **You are removed to even the numbers** in a randomly-paired event —
refunded in full, issued as a credit by default so you can re-enter at once,
cash on request.
### Postponed events
An event may be postponed by up to **7 days**. If you withdraw from an event
that has been postponed, your fee is returned as a **tournament credit**,
whenever you withdraw and whatever the tiers above would otherwise say. This
replaces any earlier statement of a cash refund on a reschedule: rounds may
already have been played, and a credit is both cleaner and fairer to an event
that partly happened.
### Tournament credits
A credit covers **one player's fee, not a team's**. If one half of a doubles
pair holds a credit, their fee is covered and their partner pays theirs.
Credits carry **no cash value**, are **not transferable**, and expire:
- a credit issued by a **withdrawal or cancellation** — **12 months** from
issue;
- the credit included with **Athlete Plus** — **at that subscription's
renewal**, rather than accumulating. One per subscription year.
We always spend the credit that expires soonest.
### Disputes and chargebacks
Tell us about a refund problem within **14 days**, at the address in section 16.
Starting a chargeback rather than talking to us may result in suspension of
your account and forfeiture of outstanding credits.
---
## 10. Manipulation, and why we take it seriously
Ratings are only worth something if they describe real games. You agree not to:
- record results for games that were not played;
- arrange results between yourselves to move a rating in either direction;
- create leagues, accounts or family-member rows whose purpose is to generate
ratings, badges, standing or eligibility;
- enter a tournament, or run one, with the purpose of producing results that
did not happen;
- hold more than one account for yourself.
We monitor for patterns consistent with this. Where we find them we may
exclude results from the world ladder, quarantine an account or a league
pending review, suspend an account under section 11, or remove a league.
**Detection produces a signal, not a verdict.** A signal is reviewed by a
person before it results in a suspension or a removal, and you get to reply —
see section 11.
---
## 11. Reports, suspension and appeals
### Reporting
Reports run in both directions. A league administrator can report a member; a
member can report their administrator or their league. Reports are read by FCL
staff, not by the person reported.
### Suspension
An account is suspended and raised for review when it has been reported and
removed by **three different leagues**, reported by **three different
administrators**, from leagues that look real, **within a rolling two years**.
A report we dismiss on review no longer counts.
**A suspension is a pending-review state and not a finding.** While suspended
you cannot join or request to join a league, register for a tournament, or
record matches, and you are unlisted from the world ladder.
**Nothing is deleted.** Your ratings, history, memberships and past results all
survive, and your past results go on counting towards other people's ratings —
reversing them would penalise your opponents.
**You are told**: that you are suspended, that it is under review, broadly why,
and how to reply.
### Appeals
You may appeal a suspension **once per suspension**, from inside the app. We
aim to decide within **7 days**. An appeal is read alongside the reports it
answers. Reinstatement is a decision made by a person.
A league that has been quarantined may appeal in the same way, through any of
its administrators.
### Notice before corrective action
Except where the conduct is serious enough to act on immediately, we give
notice and an opportunity to respond before taking action against an account or
a league.
### Removal from a league
A league administrator may remove a member from their league. Removal from a
league is not a suspension from the Platform, and removal for reaching a tier
limit is recorded as such — it never counts toward the three above.
---
## 12. League chat
Chat is a private space inside a league.
- **Messages are permanently deleted 12 months after they are written.** This
is fixed and is not a setting. An administrator may archive earlier; nobody
can shorten or extend deletion. Members' words are not one person's to erase.
- An administrator may set a shorter *archiving* period, which moves messages
out of the active view into a readable archive. Nothing is lost by it.
- **No images may be uploaded to chat.**
- A member may delete their own message at any time, and that does not expire
when a season does. An administrator may remove a message from their league.
- Chat in an archived, closed or read-only league is readable, and postable by
administrators.
- Chat is subject to section 3 and to section 11.
---
## 13. Availability, changes, and ending your use
**The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of
any kind**, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that it
will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that ratings will be free of defects.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FCL is not liable for indirect,
incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of **the
amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim** and **US$50**.
**You may stop at any time**, leave a league at any time, and delete your
account from inside the app, subject to section 4.
**We may suspend or terminate an account** that breaches these Terms, under
section 11.
---
## 14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the **State of Minnesota**, without
regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any proceeding arising out of them takes
place in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, and you and we each
consent to that.
**Talk to us first.** Before starting any formal proceeding, contact us at the
address in section 16 and give us **30 days** to sort it out. Most things are
fixable by an email, and we would much rather have the email.
Nothing in these Terms takes away a right you have under the law of the place
you live that cannot be given up by agreement.
---
## 15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do:
- the **"Last updated"** date at the top changes;
- for any change that **materially affects your rights, what you pay, or what
we may do with your data**, we give **at least 30 days' notice** in the app
and by email before it takes effect;
- **a price change never applies to a period you have already paid for**, and
we tell you before a renewal at a new price;
- continuing to use the Platform after a change takes effect means you accept
it. If you do not, you can stop, and section 7 covers what happens to a
subscription.
We do not change these Terms to shorten the 12-month chat deletion clock or to
make a minor listable on the world ladder. Those two are commitments rather
than settings.
